Wrongful Death
A wrongful death claim is based on the death of a person due to a wrongful act of another person. Examples of wrongful death cases may include but are not limited to the following:

Wrongful death lawsuits are filed on behalf of the members of the family
who have lost the support and companionship of a loved
one. Therefore, a child, wife or husband may be able
to recover damages for both support and companionship.
However, a parent who has lost a child may only be entitled
to damages for loss of companionship, not support. The
executor or administrator of the estate of the deceased,
or by individual beneficiaries (family members) may
file a wrongful death lawsuit.
